Many people dream of slowing down aging, and now it seems to be possible thanks to a test carried out at the University of California, in San Diego, USA, which used a compound in a type of fungus called yeast. The results obtained in this process generated 82% effectiveness.
There is no doubt that this discovery could lead to significant progress in the area of rejuvenation products. However, it is worth noting that development may take some time.
However, the main objective is not to develop a way to return to youth, but rather a method that can prevent and considerably delay a person’s aging.
This is the main priority, according to the study published by Science Direct. And the question remains: how does this happen?

Slowing down aging
Preventing aging from happening is not an easy task; after all, this process is linked to the nature of the human body. However, some parameters were analyzed within yeast cells, which ended up generating a lot of curiosity and subsequent studies on the subject.
It was therefore concluded that there are two ways in which yeast can age:
- a considerable number age due to mitochondria;
- while the rest undergo this modification thanks to DNA.
Faced with this situation, the only way out was to find a way to manipulate DNA. However, to carry out this process, it was necessary to pay special attention to some genes responsible for regulation that can be found in the composition of human cells.
In the process, the cellular wear and tear that causes aging is taking place, so it was necessary for there to be a modification, since several very important points in our body are only made thanks to these circuits.
So, the main mission was to create an oscillation between the two aging options we mentioned earlier. By achieving this process, aging began to occur more slowly. This method managed to generate an effective result of up to 82%!
