Best heavyweight contender Gilbert Burns believes in his next competitor Khamzat Chimaev on cloud ninth and a drop can be expected soon. As a veteran of the sport, Burns understands the hype behind “Borz” and talks about his nonsense.

The fight that fans wanted to see was finally confirmed by the promotion. Gilbert Burns will officially take over superstar Khamzat Chimaev, who rose in the heavyweight fight at UFC 273 in April. The two fighters have been attacking each other for the past few months, and the fight has finally come true.

Chimaev is no stranger to talking nonsense and is easily one of the most confident fighters on the UFC roster. Burns addresses Chimaev’s confidence in a recent interview with The AllStar. “I don’t think you’re arrogant, I just think you’re very confident.” Gilbert says in the interview. “Especially undefeated. I was there. I was 10 and 0 and my first loss was 10-0 and then 10-1 but I believe he was a little overconfident.”

“He thinks he’s untouchable. He’s never seen a loss. I’ve been there before, you know. Three fights, four fights, I think I’ll be a champion and I was definitely overconfident. And I think he’s a little overconfident.” Burns talked about Chimaev’s confidence level. Burns’ first defeat Rashid Magomedov In 2015, the Brazilian was undefeated as a professional fighter.

Although Burns thinks Chimaev is overconfident, the Brazilian thinks his bullshit has done him good so far. Khamzat managed to create a huge fan base for himself with his fighting style, empty talk and self-confidence. Burns is the 2nd-ranked contender in the middleweight division, and Chimaev is already battling him despite only having fought four fights in the UFC.
