While many of the UFC pros expressed their anger on Twitter, UFC commentator Joe Rogan was shown in fan footage showing disappointment with the decision inside the octagon. Paddy Pimblett responded to Rogan in another interview by claiming that there was “melee combat” in the octagon. “To be honest, I was pretty pissed that Joe Rogan came in and said it was a close fight. It wasn’t a split decision, it was a unanimous decision, so I’m pretty angry with the people I lost. This is disturbing me” said Pimblett.

After the controversial decision, the judges continued to score the main event title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Anakalaev as a split draw that caused chaos in the octagon. The vacant light heavyweight title remained vacant, and Ankalaev announced his departure from the organization after the fight.
