Google is always looking to improve the experience of its users. For this reason, new updates are always being implemented. One of the most recent was made in Google Maps in search of making the park navigation nationals much easier.
In this latest update, four new features have been added to the platform. These tools will help users who want to visit or are visiting national parks. Want to learn more about these new Google Maps tools? We’ll tell you all about them below.
New Google Maps Features
When planning a trip to a national park, you can view photos of its main attractions directly on the platform. By tapping on an image, you can view details and read comments from people who have already visited the place.

The other three tools are designed to help you avoid getting lost in the park. The app will show the entire trail route on a map to the user. This way, you can scroll through some photos to help you visually locate yourself while you are hiking.
Additionally, the directions are more accurate and will direct you to the entrance of the national park or trail so you can begin your hike.
Finally, taking into account the problems with internet access in national parks, Maps has also made it possible to download an offline map of the entire area. Using this data, you will be able to find your way out of a trail even if your phone does not have an internet connection.
Unfortunately, these new features have only been rolled out to users in the United States and will be available later this month for Android and iOS. However, Google plans to roll them out to all national parks around the world in the near future.
