NuView and its bold and innovative plan
The company NuView is planning to launch satellites into space to literally map our entire world, with a technology that is not very unknown, but that will gain a new functionality: mapping the Earth in three dimensions. Obviously, we are talking about the most remote places to the most well-known.
The technology used is called To leadwhich is the acronym for Light Detection and Ranging (“Light Detection and Tracking”, in free translation) and is a method used to measure distances and create three-dimensional maps of the surrounding environment.
This technology works by emitting pulses of laser light towards an object and measuring the time it takes for the pulse to return after being reflected by that object.
Based on this time measurement, the LiDAR system can calculate the distance between the sensor and the object, thus creating an accurate representation of the topographic and surface characteristics of the environment, or else forming a three-dimensional image of the mapped space.
LiDAR is frequently used in a variety of fields, including cartography, geology, urban planning, environmental monitoring, forest mapping, civil engineering, autonomous vehicles, and more.
It is a valuable technology for obtaining accurate and detailed data on the shape and structure of objects and terrain, enabling a wide range of practical applications.

The company plan
NuView, with this bold and strategic vision, plans to launch not just one, but a total of 20 satellites into a low-altitude orbit. This endeavor will begin with the launch of the first satellite in 2026, followed by subsequent launches every year and a half.
The core of this exciting project lies in the combination of these satellites with LiDAR technology. This fusion aims to reach a new level of terrestrial mapping, providing an accurate and detailed representation, even in 3D, of our beloved globe.
The satellites, equipped with LiDAR sensors, will be able to emit beams of laser light towards the Earth’s surface, capturing valuable information about the topography, vegetation, water resources and other aspects of our planet.
With this fleet of satellites in orbit, NuView aims to provide comprehensive and up-to-date global coverage, opening doors to various applications in areas such as cartography, environmental monitoring, urban planning and much more.
