bill Gatesco-founder of Microsoft, predicts that the future leading artificial intelligence company will create a personal digital agent capable of performing tasks for people.

He believes this technology will have a profound impact, potentially changing user behavior. Gates’ statements were made during an AI event held by Goldman Sachs and SV Angel.

“Whoever wins with the personal agent, that will be the big breakthrough, because you will never go to a search site again, you will never go to a productivity site again, you will never go to Amazon again.”

It is not yet known whether any type of AI in this segment has been developed, but the idea was that it would filter users’ habits and facilitate research, as the tool would read things that you don’t have time to read, according to Gates.

The businessman also mentioned that there are great chances that a large technology company or startup will develop the idea.

“I would be disappointed if Microsoft wasn’t there. But I am impressed with some startups, including Inflection,” he added, referring to Inflection.AI, co-founded by former DeepMind executive Mustafa Suleyman.

Gates also highlighted that it will take some time before a powerful digital agent is ready for widespread use. In the meantime, companies will continue to adopt generative AI technologies like OpenAI’s ChatGPT in their products.

Additionally, Gates highlighted his healthcare-focused work at his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and emphasized the role of AI in accelerating innovations in healthcare, enabling advanced drug development.

He believes that, even though the functioning of the human brain remains a mystery, humanity is getting closer to creating effective medicines to treat diseases such as Alzheimer’swith human trials possibly happening within a decade.
