The predominance of buildings in urban centers has become an obstacle to the adoption of solar energy, due to the lack of space for installing panels. However, it appears that this situation is changing, providing an even more significant detail for the success of this approach.
Recently, these barriers are being overcome through subscription services. Yes, you read correctly. A trend that became popular with streaming services is now being applied to solar energy.
Sustainable energy generation occurs in areas located outside urban centers and is distributed to customers in cities through cables.

SP will gain subscription solar energy program
In Brazil, more than 6,400 subscription-based solar energy plants are currently in operation, covering more than 1,150 municipalities and meeting the needs of more than 300,000 consumers, according to information from Absolate. This indicates that this system is already in full development and is gaining followers every day.
The program will be accessible to both individuals and small and medium-sized companies in the metropolis and its surrounding region, covering a total of 24 municipalities. To benefit, the customer must be connected to Enel São Paulo’s low voltage network.
According to Absolar, anyone who joins the subscription program can have an average saving of 10% to 15% on their electricity bill. Which can be a great attraction for those who want to save even more.
The energy will be distributed through generation at a plant located in Cajamar, just over forty kilometers from the capital. Guilherme Susteras, managing partner of Sun Mobi, anticipates that the acceptance of this new market will be even faster than seen in other areas where the company operates.
The operation of the service involves renting a portion of the energy generated by a plant close to the customer’s location. This credit is directly applied to the electricity bill. Do you think this new feature could work in São Pauloone of the largest metropolises in the world?
