This is good news for those who often send a message and then have to delete it to correct something that was said. WhatsApp is considering adding a feature that allows users to edit what was sent instead of deleting it.
However, the new feature is available for those who use the web version of the messenger. According to the WhatsApp specialist website, WABetaInfothe feature became available through the 2.2319.9 series.
But don’t worry. If you want to use it, you’ll have to wait a bit, as this update is still a beta version. In other words, only beta users of the messenger, who are there to test it, can use it.
According to the information, the edit message button will be in the same menu as the options to delete, forward, etc.

Editing only to correct typos
Although it is a great feature that brings good innovation to the messenger, it is not good to create too many expectations. This is because editing messages will be similar to the feature of deleting messages within WhatsApp.
In other words, you will have a specific time to do this. From the moment the message is sent, the user will only have 15 minutes to edit the text.
After that, you will have to delete what you sent and rewrite it, as is normally done. So, be careful about this when using the feature!
WhatsApp’s decision is intended to prevent a wave of edited messages, in which a user can say something and simply change it. In addition, it is a feature that prevents fake news from spreading or anything like that.
Even though the new feature is available to beta users, WhatsApp has yet to explain how message editing will be controlled by the app. Stay tuned for more news to find out when the feature will be available to the general public.
