Nowadays, it is no news to anyone that the Pix ended up taking over the market in terms of daily transactions made by Brazilian citizens. This is because this payment method has made people’s lives much easier in this regard.

However, controversy has recently begun to swirl around this payment model. This is because the Central Bank recently approved a resolution that changes some of Pix’s parameters.
Among the changes that are expected to occur, one in particular has been keeping people awake at night: the possibility of charging fees on transactions. Want to know what’s happening? Keep reading and we’ll tell you!
Will there be fees charged for Pix?
In short, it is important to make it clear that there is no reason to worry. In fact, the charging of fees on Pix should not apply to all users of this payment method. In fact, the measure adopted by the Central Bank is suitable for very specific situations when we analyze the general panorama.
In this sense, the charging of fees is more linked to the use of this modality in terms of its commercial use. Pix, until now, has always been completely free, both for individuals and for individual entrepreneurs (EI) and individual microentrepreneurs (MEI).
However, with the change, legal entities may be charged for transfers made via Pix.
The fee charged is also related to the amount that can be transferred. Another point worth highlighting is that financial institutions are not required to charge any type of fee.
In other words, this will be at the discretion of the bank itself. This change proved necessary considering large transactions that end up being made without any type of fee, as occurs in transfers via TED and DOC. Ultimately, individuals should not be subject to any type of taxation.
