FaceTime has received one of the biggest feature boosts in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. Apple hasn’t worked on FaceTime reliability. You may encounter FaceTime connection status while creating a call. Read on to learn how to fix FaceTime not connecting to iPhone.
Now you can create a FaceTime call connection, share a screen using FaceTime, listen to music and watch TV shows with SharePlay, and your friends from Android or Windows can also join a FaceTime call. All of these features are worthless if you can’t connect the FaceTime call in the first place. Let’s fix the problem.
1. Connect to Wi-Fi
FaceTime requires a high-speed internet connection for a flawless video call. If you’re on a slow mobile network, it’s time to connect it to a high-speed Wi-Fi network.
Swipe down from the top right corner and reveal the Control Center. Enable Wi-Fi and connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi frequency on iPhone.

Before creating a FaceTime call, you should use the Speedtest app and check the internet speed on your phone.
2. Activate FaceTime
Did a recent iOS update log you out of FaceTime on iPhone? In this case, you cannot access the FaceTime home page on iPhone. You need to enable FaceTime from the settings menu.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down to the FaceTime menu.
Stage 3: Open FaceTime and enable FaceTime from the menu below.

Alternatively, you can open FaceTime and tap Continue from the start page. This option will automatically enable FaceTime pass-through.

With FaceTime pass-through disabled, you can’t receive calls from iPhone to Mac either.
3. Check FaceTime Caller ID
Have you recently changed Apple email id on iPhone? You need to make changes to FaceTime. Follow the steps below.
Stage 1: Open iPhone Settings and go to FaceTime.
Step 2: Select your new Apple ID from the Caller ID section.

Now you won’t get FaceTime connection error as your iPhone is using the new Apple email ID.
4. Check Apple System Status Page
The inability of FaceTime to connect to iPhone may be due to the anger of the Apple server. You cannot create a FaceTime call on iPhone if Apple servers are having an off day. No matter what number you try, you will not be able to connect to a FaceTime call.

You can go to the Apple System Status page and check the FaceTime status. If FaceTime has a green indicator next to it, it’s working as expected. If things go bad, you will see a red indicator.
You have no choice but to wait for Apple to fix the problem.
5. Disable Low Data Mode
Low Data Mode helps reduce mobile data usage. iOS will reduce data usage on iPhone when switch is enabled for mobile network. The app may cause FaceTime connection problems on iPhone. You need to disable low data mode for your data plan. Here’s how.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on iPhone.
Step 2: Go to the Mobile Data menu.
Stage 3: Select the data plan.

Step 4: Disable Low Data Mode from the menu below.

Stage 1: Go to the Settings app on iPhone.
Step 2: Proceed to the general menu.
Stage 3: Tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone.

Step 4: Select Reset and tap Reset Network Settings from the context menu.
Open FaceTime and tap the New FaceTime button at the top.

FaceTime is part of the iOS update package. Apple does not distribute FaceTime from the App Store. The company is improving the service through iOS updates on iPhone.
Open the Settings app and go to the General menu. Select Software Update and install the latest operating system on iPhone.
8. Try FaceTime Alternatives
If FaceTime is indeed turned off, you need to try alternatives. And there’s no shortage of FaceTime competitors from the App Store.
Some notable mentions include WhatsApp video calls, Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams and Google Duo. In short, you will not have any difficulties in connecting with your loved ones over video calls.
