The end of times has been predicted many times by some religions or groups of people, but in all these cases, the predictions have proven to be inaccurate.

The Sun will explode and destroy everything on Earth

First, to understand how this will happen, it is necessary to know what happens inside this star, its life cycle and how this leads us directly to its explosion.

The Sun works like a huge melter that releases energy. It joins two atoms of the same element and creates a new, heavier one, like two hydrogen particles becoming a helium atom.

This process continues until all the elements in the periodic table have been created. And when it fails to fuse the heaviest element, iron (Fe), the star’s core collapses and explodes in a supernova. Thus, it sweeps away everything in its path and gives rise to a much denser “white dwarf” star.

But what about the end of the Earth?

Well, even before the star dies, it will begin to grow and become a “Red Giant”. Its expansion will reach the orbits of Mercury and Venus, swallowing the planets.

Therefore, if the Earth is not swallowed together, the climatic conditions here will be so extreme, and with extremely high temperatures, that no form of life will be able to survive.

But don’t worry, that won’t happen for another 5 billion years. We’re still halfway there, so we have plenty of time to plan an “escape.”
