In an attempt to advance in the space race, SpaceX launched Starship last Thursday (20). Despite its efforts, the ship was unable to reach its full destination. This is because, after taking off from the SpaceX base, the ship was unable to separate from the first stage and exploded.
The launch took place around 10:33 a.m. (Brasília time) and, during the broadcast, it was already noticeable that the spacecraft was having problems. Despite this, Space X owner Elon Musk considered the test a success.

The Starship explosion occurred about 3 minutes and 59 seconds after launch. It is still unclear whether the incident was due to a fault or whether the company itself decided to destroy the spacecraft remotely.
Starship did not carry any cargo or people on board for the trip. The goal was to make the first launch with the rocket. Falcon Heavythe largest and most powerful rocket in history, completely integrated with the spacecraft.
The Starship was supposed to ascend, circle Earth and then land near Hawaii. However, the approximately 33 rockets that power the Falcon Heavy rocket failed to ignite during the flight.
Additionally, the craft appears to have ascended at a greater angle and slower speed than expected.
Elon Musk considers Starship test a success
Even though it seemed like everything went wrong, Elon Musk considered the test a success and thanked the team that worked to make it happen. The SpaceX CEO has already promised that in a few months they will do the launch again. Check out an excerpt from the official statement:
“Success comes from learning, and today’s test will help us improve Starship’s reliability as SpaceX seeks to make life multi-planetary.”
So now we just have to wait for Musk and the SpaceX team to come up with a new launch date for Starship and present their future plans.
