iOS 17 outdated? Two new system features already existed on Android

Since its first launch in 2007, Apple has revolutionized the smartphone market forever, with a device full of features and a unique operating system, the iOS. Over time, competitors emerged, but the company remained the market leader for more than a decade.

Currently, the company’s iPhones already have strong competitors. The cell phones Android, for example, surpass themselves in some aspects. This is mainly due to the fact that there are constant system updates, which add new features with each release.

However, the company founded by Steve Jobs seeks continuous improvement and will now launch two new tools in its new iOS 17as well as a series of other features, even if they are already present on the latest Android cell phones.

The renowned Apple brand announced, at its developer conference this year, WWDC 2023, its most updated version of the operating system, iOS 17, bringing innovations to the company’s smartphones.

Among many new features, such as adding a personalized background for contacts, mode standby with interactive options and audio-to-text transcription, there will also be two features that already existed in older versions of Android phones, since version 12, the most current being Android 14.

We are talking about two very useful applications: Siri (Apple’s virtual assistant) support in more than one language and scrolling screenshots.

Bilingual Siri and screenshot full screen

In the new iOS 17, whose beta version is already being tested, Crab, aiming to compete with Google and Amazon’s artificial intelligence, can now understand and be configured in two languages simultaneously. However, there is still not much information about its applicability in more languages.

Apple’s other secret is that scrolling screenshots will be available. That is, it will be possible to take a print of the entire device screen, without limiting what appears at the time of capture.

To do this, simply click on the floating image in the bottom corner and select the “Full Page” option. This will take a full screenshot of the page, allowing the user to choose between saving it as a PDF or an image.

More news and releases

iOS 17 is not yet generally available, but there is a possibility that it will be released with the iPhone 15in mid-September of this year.

In addition to the new features mentioned, Apple’s operating system will have a new way of sharing data, called AirDrops. With a simple approach between two cell phones with iOS 17, it will be possible to share video content, photos, emails and each user’s personalized plan.

The creation of stickers has become simpler with “Live Sticker”, which allows you to create stickers on the fly from an image in your gallery. The launch is expected to innovate the user experience, in order to meet the needs that Android already offers, and possibly even surpasses it.
