Technology advances by leaps and bounds, and in the world of smartphoneswater resistance has become an increasingly desired feature.
However, not all devices meet expectations in this regard, which led to an experiment being carried out.
Recently, two devices were chosen to undergo a resistance test: an iPhone 15 Pro Max and a Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The choice was not random — both are cutting-edge models, representing the most advanced in the world of smartphones.
The experiment, documented by the Tech Timmers YouTube channel, consisted of submerging the devices in lemon soda and keeping them frozen for 13 hours.
After this period, they were removed from the freezer and thawed with hot water, revealing the true water resistance of such devices.
It is worth mentioning that, although exciting, carrying out tests such as these is not recommended, as it may cause problems with the devices.
What happened when you thawed them?

After completing around 13 hours and 40 minutes, the Galaxy S23 Ultra was the first to be removed from the freezer.
After defrosting, when turned on again, a message appeared on the screen, warning that it should not be connected to the conventional charger.
The device, intelligently, was able to detect the residual presence of water in its USB port, recommending the exclusive use of induction chargers until the moisture is completely eliminated.
On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro Max did not display any alert messages, but it worked perfectly, just like the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The impeccable result was already expected, due to the IP68 certification of both models, indicating that they can resist immersion in up to 1.5 meters of depth for a maximum of 30 minutes.
While some may be confident in the robustness of their devices, it is always important to remember that extreme tests, such as the one carried out, should not be replicated, in order to avoid damaging the devices.
