The battle for the top spots in the ranking of telecommunications operators is fiercer than ever. According to data from Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency), Vivo leads the race with the largest number of subscribers, followed by Claro and TIM.

However, when it comes to fixed broadband services, Claro takes the lead, leaving Vivo and Oi in second and third place, respectively. Surprisingly, TIM suffered a significant decline, falling to ninth place.

Despite Anatel’s numbers, other research also reinforces Claro’s prominence in the market.

In its fifth edition, the MelhorPlano.net awards crowned Claro as the absolute champion in four of the five categories: Best Speed, Best Provider, Best Mobile Internet and, to the surprise of many, Best Internet Gamer.

Vivo, in turn, won the hearts of Brazilians by winning the Best Satisfaction category. This result indicates that the company has invested in improving its Customer Service (SAC) and in excellence in the delivery of its services in general.

A curious change in the methodology of this award occurred in the category of Best Satisfaction. In addition to the evaluations of providers on the “Minha Conexão” platform, popular voting also began to influence the result.

For two months, from November 2022 to January 2023, consumers had the opportunity to actively evaluate their operators and assign satisfaction ratings on the services received.

It is not enough to just take this assessment into account

Despite the reviews, it is important to highlight that each operator has different characteristics and serves different consumer profiles. Furthermore, the quality of services may vary according to the region, the available infrastructure and user demand.

While Claro and Vivo dominate the preference in several aspects, other operators also have their strengths and constantly seek to stand out in the market. Healthy competition between companies is beneficial for consumers, who can enjoy a variety of increasingly improved options and services.
