This chapter began in 2018, when users began to notice problems such as gray speaker buttons during calls, loss of voice command functionality Crab and errors in voice recordings.
The affected devices were sold between early 2017 and late 2018.

It is also necessary to submit a documented complaint to the Apple regarding speaker issues or provide proof of repair or replacement of the device due to said bug.
These criteria establish the conditions for participation in the US$35 million settlement, ending the class action lawsuit in the United States related to ‘loop disease’.
Users eligible for the ‘loop disease’ related settlement in iPhone 7/7 Plus will receive payments, ranging from at least $50 to no more than $349.
Those who were members of the action and had AppleCare+ at the time, with no out-of-pocket costs for speaker repairs or replacements, will be eligible for a payment of up to $125.
