Nvidia’s incredible performance over the past year, which has made it the S&P 500’s top stock, continues to surprise.

In the last 30 days, its shares have appreciated by more than 30%, boosting its market value to an impressive US$1.825 trillion after the recent market close.

The company’s rise in the ranking of the most valuable is attributed to investors’ belief that Nvidia will be the main beneficiary of the growing adoption of artificial intelligence.

Enzo Pacheco highlights that the company plays a crucial role in the construction of data centers, fundamental for the development of new technologies driven by AI.

Big players, like Meta, led by Mark Zuckerbergare among the companies using Nvidia chips to build massive computing infrastructures.

Growing demand and appreciation of Nvidia chips

Meta’s announcement about the need for 350,000 Nvidia H100 chips for the company’s future development was a decisive factor in the chipmaker’s climb.

Although it may seem like a seemingly modest amount, the value of these chips, estimated at between US$25,000 and US$30,000 each, would result in significant expenses for Meta, reaching almost US$9 billion to create its infrastructure.

While Nvidia continues to shine on the international stage, other players in the chip sector are also showing promising results.

The recent debutant on the American stock market, chip designer Arm, saw its shares soar 50% in just one day, while Taiwanese giant TSMC projects optimistic AI-related revenues.

Next Wednesday (21), Nvidia will release results for the 4th quarter of 2023. This announcement comes after the launch of new AI chips last month, which coincides with a 12-fold growth in the company’s profit in the third quarter last year.

Nvidia, with its constant innovation and crucial role in the revolution of artificial intelligencecontinues to surprise the market and solidify its place as one of the global technology leaders.
