“The systemic racist problem” – Joe Rogan’s guest Derrick Hamilton details more than two decades in prison for FALSE convictions

Podcast King Joe Rogan‘s podcast features guests from all walks of life. His guests include anyone who is a comedian, actor, academic, political analyst, and has an interesting story to tell.

In a recent episode, such a person was featured in Derrick Hamilton. The Joe Rogan Experience podcast with host and Josh Dubin. Hamilton was wrongfully convicted of murdering Daniel Cash, which he refused to commit. He was imprisoned for over twenty years for a murder he did not commit.

For more than two decades, Hamilton struggled to survive in prison, leaping from one correctional facility to another and remaining in solitary confinement for extended periods. During his time in prison, he taught himself enough criminal law to become one of the most qualified prison lawyers in the country.

He fought for his own cause after training and when he was released. He began working for others he believed were wrongfully convicted and held in prison. He also started a movement called the Innocence Project. Project Brooklyn DA was responsible for removing Charles Hynes. Ken Thompson, who replaced Hynes, cleared ten wrongfully convicted in his first year in office.

during his meeting with Joe Rogan On his JRE podcast, Hamilton detailed his experience of spending more than two decades in prison, as well as detailing his wrongful conviction and early life before conviction. He continued to debate how many black men were wrongfully convicted and held in jail.

According to him, the main reason for these wrongful convictions in Brooklyn is Systemic Racism. The self-taught lawyer said during the interview: UFC commentator, “We started bombing prosecutors. We started protests outside of the office and we managed to get rid of them. The first person we managed to escape was prosecutor Charles Hynes, who sent me to jail in Brooklyn.”

“We fired him and put in a progressive prosecutor who agreed he would look into these convictions if elected. So he went in and cleared 22 people in two years. And he discovered that it was a systemic racist problem that was convicting the wrong people in Brooklyn.” Derrick said podcaster.

Hamilton was eventually paroled, and his case was vacated and dismissed after the CIU ruled he was innocent of all charges. He now works as a paralegal and continues to assist in wrongful conviction cases.
