Opera browser is a great alternative to Chrome on Android. It is a very fast and secure browser with an emphasis on privacy controls such as a built-in inclusive ad blocker and more dialogs that notify the user when a site uses cookies, for example. But version 51 now allows users to go beyond with a free and unlimited integrated VPN and, above all, “no-logs”.
How to download Opera 51 for Android
Opera isn’t on its first try with VPNs on Android. Until last April, the firm offered OperaVPN, a dedicated app, before shutting down the service abruptly. Meanwhile, Opera has launched a beta testing phase for a similar service, but integrated directly into the browser. Therefore, Version 51 makes this service available to all Internet users who download the application.
On top of that, Opera now offers more options for controlling your privacy and security on the web. Opera’s VPN service is based on servers located in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, without further details. In order not to affect the performance too much, the closest server to you is selected automatically.
This very easy enable VPN sets up a 256-bit algorithm encrypted tunnel to another point on the network with an option to the left of the search bar. Thus, it secures your connection when you connect to public wifi networks, for example by masking traffic, thus complicating man-in-the-middle attacks.
