The New York Jets had a tumultuous start to the 2022/23 NFL season. The franchise had to deal with the loss of primary quarterback Zach Wilson last week due to injury, and they started off with a heavy 24-9 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens.
Zach Wilson’s substitute was quarterback Joe Flacco, who had a well below average game and was evident from the number of times they had to throw the ball in the game. The Jets threw the ball 59 times, which is an indication of how hard they found things against a well-oiled Ravens defense.

The Jets’ approach was picked up by numerous NFL analysts after the defeat. The former NFL quarterback turned podcast host, Peyton Manning decided to weigh in on the latest episode of ManningCast.
“Well, the Jets scored 59 times and that worked out well for them.” Peyton joked about the Jets during her talk with Eli Manning. “They looked good.”
“Wow, it was shot early,” Eli replied. “You can’t throw 59 times when you opener” said Manning. “You can’t throw 59 times in the opener, you can’t.”
“With your backup quarterback? Illegal?” she asked.
“Guarantee you won’t win” Peyton declared.
The defeat has already raised many questions for the head coach. Robert Saleh Reserve Mike White is waiting on the flanks as to who will start the next game as the number 1 quarterback.
