Patrick Mahomes will play without Tyreek Hill for the first time in his career in 2022. The superstar buyer was recently involved in a blockbuster trade and was sent to the Miami Dolphins for 5 picks. Skip Bayless believes this will be a problem for Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill appeared in 58 games in which they tied 331 times on 502 goals for 4638 yards and 42 touchdowns. All of this was achieved in the 5 seasons that Mahomes debuted.
With Hill’s departure, Mahomes’ task of keeping the Chiefs offense as explosive as we know it certainly gets a lot more difficult. Much of what makes them dangerous is that defenses commit to Hill and allow other players like Travis Kelce to open up. Of course it’s still there, but now it will be the focus of the opposing defenses.
With all this in mind, Skip Bayless shared his thoughts on how this will turn out and ultimately detrimental to Patrick Mahomes.

Skip Bayless believes Patrick Mahomes is in for a tough 2022 season
On an episode of Fox Sports ‘Undisputed’Skip Bayless quotes quoted “Kansas City’s third-place rating (to win the Super Bowl) is too high. They just took a big hit. Miami won’t win much, it’s Kansas City losing. You’ve lost the deadliest receiver I’ve ever seen. The person who can literally get you off the field o. Kelce might be the best ending, it might hurt me, but it won’t destroy me.”
Bayless added even more “Patrick Mahomes will be exposed. There’s going to be a huge gap in his game because he won’t be able to land on Tyreek Hill. Right now the Kansas City Chiefs are no better than the Broncos. I think there’s an undeserved admiration for Patrick Mahomes now. I’m not saying Tyreek did it, but he his deadly presence led Mahomes to a deadly gamble.”
The Chiefs definitely need to try and find some guns and they have the rest of their free agency to do it. Not to mention, they now have multiple draft picks, meaning they can either trade for an established player or go to a player in the draft. Either way, it will be crucial for Patrick Mahome this summer that he finds another weapon on his offensive.
