“The All India Senior Selection Committee has appointed Jasprit Bumrah as the captain of the upcoming Test and Rishabh Pant as his deputy,” the statement said.

Bumrah had selected 18 wickets with an average of 20.83 in seven bowling strokes. Bumrah was made vice-captain in the Test series against Sri Lanka and said he would not hesitate if given the captaincy, but actually came earlier in the unfortunate circumstance.
