All about the futuristic pickup truck
The portal revealed that it obtained more details about Project Everest (codename for the Cybertruck) through top-secret sources within Tesla and its suppliers. The company reportedly shared additional information, including the model’s annual production target.
Thus, Tesla plans to manufacture around 375,000 Cybertruck units per year, aiming to meet the high demand for the vehicle, which has had millions of reservations since its official presentation.
Previously, there was only information that the pickup truck with a futuristic design would be launched sometime in 2023, possibly at the end of the third quarter, with more modest production estimates.
In a meeting with shareholders, Elon Musk said that it is possible for Tesla to produce around 250,000 Cybertrucks per year. If everything goes according to plan, this news will be welcomed by customers who made reservations years ago and have not yet received the vehicle due to repeated delays.
So far, it is estimated that 1.5 million people are waiting to receive the Cybertruck (considering that there are duplicate reservations and even orders of up to ten units for the same buyer).
Electrek also mentions that full-scale production of the Cybertruck is expected to begin a little later, in early October 2023.
This information brings optimism to vehicle enthusiasts, who have been looking forward to the launch of this revolutionary electric pickup truck for a long time.
