Avoid scams on Black Friday! Procon lists almost 80 sites for you NOT to buy

A sexta-feira Negra is in full swing and whenever this time of year approaches it is also important to take some precautions to avoid falling for scams or fraud.

To help consumers, Procon in São Paulo released this Thursday (23) a list of almost 80 websites that should be avoided on Black Friday this year.

They are addresses of virtual stores that have been the target of many consumer complaints in the past, and which still did not provide any response.

The addresses were compiled by Procon since 2018. In addition to the links, the agency also informed the CNPJs of each person and the respective names of those responsible.

As the list has been made for a few years, many of the sites mentioned are already offline. Three of them, however, continue to operate normally and are even offering products on Black Friday.

In any case, it is worth checking the complete list and becoming aware of the situation. After all, you never know when they will start scamming again.

Procon Tips

The forecast is that this year’s Black Friday period should generate more than R$5 billion in e-commerce alone.

With so much commercial movement, the chance of failures or infractions occurring, according to the rules of the consumer rights, it’s big.

To help you and prevent you from becoming a victim of fraud, Procon has listed six important tips. Look:

1. The Consumer Protection Code (Law nº 8,078/1990) is also valid on Black Friday;
2. The consumer must carefully analyze, during the promotion, the payment conditions offered, the interest rates and payment deadlines;
3. It is also important to evaluate whether the profile or website has complaints and observations from consumers (if there are no comments, be suspicious);
4. It is recommended to be careful with prices that are too low. They can be a trap;
5. Prefer suppliers that provide service channels, CNPJ and physical address;
6. Avoid links sent by email, WhatsApp or messages, without first checking the supplier’s official channel.
