O Whatsapp officially announced last Thursday (7) the introduction of the single-view voice messaging feature.
This tool ensures that audio sent to a contact or group disappears after being listened to.
Although it has been tested since October, the new feature is only now being implemented for all users. The update will occur gradually over the next few weeks.
According to WhatsApp, single-view voice messages represent an additional layer of privacy on the platform.
It is worth noting that this feature offers greater peace of mind when sending confidential information via audio, such as credit card details or planning a surprise.
Similar to single-view photo and video features, voice messages marked with the ‘1’ icon can only be played once.
WhatsApp protects such ‘self-destructing’ audios through end-to-end encryption, ensuring security while transmitting personal messages.

To use the new functionality, simply open a conversation, choose to send audio, press the microphone icon in the left corner and slide it upwards until the lock is activated.
Then click the circle icon with the number 1 until the field turns green. Once you’ve finished recording, select the send arrow to share the message, ensuring it only plays once.

In summary, the launch of single-view voice messages on WhatsApp represents a significant improvement in user privacy.
With the ability to send audio that disappears after being heard, the platform offers an additional layer of security, allowing you to share confidential information with greater peace of mind.
The gradual rollout of this feature over the next few weeks will provide all users with the opportunity to enjoy this enhanced functionality, reinforcing the importance of privacy in digital communications.
