“Let’s give it to them” – Eugene Bareman discusses a possible fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway

Alexander Volkanovski is on his way to writing his new legacy as a featherweight playing the sport. The fighter made his UFC debut in 2016 and beat everyone to become the new champion. At UFC 245, Volkanovski battled Max Holloway for the title and won the fight unanimously.

The results were shocking, as no one thought Holloway would lose the war. After that, ‘The Blessed’ challenged Volkanovski for the rematch that took place at UFC 251. Volkanovski won the fight by a split decision, but caused a lot of controversy. 18 out of 27 media outlets settled the match in favor of Holloway.

Since then, Volkanovski has defended his title twice against Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung. Holloway was supposed to tackle Volkanovski at UFC 273, but due to an injury Sung Jung had to replace the American.

Eugene Bareman recently Sending Radio Israel Adesanya and Volkanovski discuss their fight.

While talking about Volkanovski’s next title defense against Holloway, Bareman explained that he wasn’t interested in this fight and didn’t think it was necessary. According to Bareman, his teams have already won twice, proving their skills. Bareman said he will protest the fight and said if the fans want it, let’s do it.

“Personally, I don’t think the fight is necessary…because we’ve already won twice. I’m not against it happening again… if that’s what people want to see, let’s give it to them.”

Apart from beating Holloway twice, Volkanovski also beat anyone who challenged him. The Aussie has established strong dominance over the division that is hard for any fighter to beat. But Holloway is a fan favourite, and many still believe he can stop Volkanovski’s streak. These hype and expectations from fight fans are one of the main reasons the UFC is willing to take this fight.
