How to Share Screen on Telegram on Mobile and PC

Telegram is one of the most feature-rich instant messaging apps. When you look at its competitors (especially WhatsApp and Signal), Telegram is head and shoulders above them. One of these features that Telegram has recently added to its arsenal is the ability to share screens with others.

How to Share Screen on Telegram for Android

If you’re using Android, here’s how to share your screen with anyone on Telegram.

Stage 1: Launch the Telegram app on your phone and open the chat of the person you want to share the screen with.

Step 2: Tap the search button at the top to start a search. Once connected, tap the Start Video button at the bottom.

Stage 3: Telegram will ask you to choose between Rear Camera, Front Camera and Phone Screen. Select Phone Screen option and tap on Share Video button. Press Start Now when prompted.

After a while, you will see a message saying ‘You are sharing your screen’. Now the participant will see your screen. If you no longer want to share the screen, you can press the Stop Video button at any point.

Similarly, you can share your screen with many people at the same time while making a group video call on Telegram. Here’s how.

Stage 1: Launch the Telegram app on your phone and open a group chat.

Step 2: Tap the group name at the top.

Stage 3: Now, use the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and select the Start Video chat option. Tap Start Video Chat again from the pop-up menu.

Step 4: Tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and select Share screen. Tap Start Now when prompted.

And that’s about it. Now all participants in the call can see your screen.

How to Share Screen on Telegram for iPhone

If you’re using an iPhone, the screen sharing feature works similarly here. Here’s how.

Stage 1: Launch Telegram app on your iPhone and open a contact’s chat.

Step 2: Tap the name of the person at the top. Now use the Search icon to make a search.

Stage 3: Once connected tap on Camera option and Telegram will ask you to choose between Rear Camera, Front Camera and Phone Screen. Select the Phone Screen option and then press Continue.

Step 4: Select Start Broadcast when prompted.

Wait for the three second timer to complete and your screen will be seen by the other person.

You can also share the screen with up to 1000 people simultaneously in a Group video call on Telegram. Here’s how.

Stage 1: Open a Group chat in Telegram. To start a group call, tap the group name at the top and select the Voice Chat option.

Step 2: Wait for others to join the call. Next, tap the Video button in the bottom left. Select Phone Screen and press Continue to share your Screen. Tap on Start Broadcast when prompted.

In a group video call, up to 30 participants can share their screens with approximately 1000 viewers simultaneously.

How to Share Screen on Telegram for Desktop

If you are using Telegram application on your computer, this is how you can share your computer screen in a Telegram video call.

Stage 1: Open Telegram on your PC. Open the chat of the person you want to share the screen with. Tap the search icon in the upper right corner to start a search.

Step 2: After the call is connected, click the Screencast button at the bottom.

Stage 3: Telegram will ask you who you want to share the screen with. You can choose one of the active windows or choose to share the entire screen.

Finally, hit the Share Screen button.

Step 1: Launch Telegram app on your PC and open a group chat. Click on Video Chat in the top right.

Step 2: Click Continue to continue.

Stage 3: Wait for others to join the call. Now use the three-dot menu at the top left to select the Share Screen option.

Step 4: Next, select a screen and press the Share Screen button. Optionally, you can tick the checkbox to share the system audio as well.
