The time has come to say goodbye to some iPhone models, as they will not receive the update in 2024! As happens annually, Apple stops providing support for certain models.
This year, three of them will be left out and, consequently, will not receive the iOS 18 update either.
With each release, the company introduces new features and, occasionally, visual adjustments, along with a new operating system.
In 2024, we eagerly await the arrival of the iPhone 16 line, which will be accompanied by iOS 18. However, not all old models will be covered by this update.
iPhones that won’t update in 2024
In the most recent iOS 17 update, Apple surprised by announcing that devices with A11 Bionic processors would no longer support new updates. This implies that the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus would no longer receive updates.
Although there is no official confirmation about iOS 18, there are indications that the update cut will extend to models with the A12 Bionic processor.
The iPhone models that will be without updates in 2024 include: iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

X-line iPhones are about to lose Apple support for future updatesincluding the long-awaited iOS 18.
Launched in 2018 and initially operating with iOS 12, these devices enjoyed the company’s support for approximately six years.
As part of the natural product life cycle, it is expected that other models will also be removed from the support list over time. This time, the X line family says goodbye to support.
For next year, there are indications that devices equipped with the A13 Bionic processor, such as the iPhone 11 and the 2020 iPhone SE, may stop receiving updates.
Uncertainty hovers over whether Apple will remove these models from the list as early as 2025, coinciding with the launch expected from iOS 19.
