WhatsApp prepares for visual transformation; know what’s coming

O Whatsapp, one of the “jewels” of the company Meta (formerly known as Facebook), is always evolving to offer users a more pleasant and functional experience. Now, the application is preparing for a significant visual transformation, based on the Material Design 3 design concept.

Material Design 3 is a simplified, two-dimensional design language developed by Google, and now WhatsApp is incorporating this modern aesthetic into its user interface.

The changes are already being tested in Beta version 2.23.13.16 of WhatsApp, available to a select group of users. Android.

What to expect from the changes

  1. Clearer Visual: In light mode, the top part of the application will be predominantly white, providing a cleaner and more airy environment. This change promises to make reading and navigation easier, making the interface more pleasant.

  2. New green font and logo: The name “WhatsApp”, which normally appears in the top left corner of the application, now adopts a different font and takes on a green color, harmonizing with the iconic WhatsApp logo.

  3. Bottom menu: the guides messages, status and calls will be repositioned at the bottom of the screen, replacing text with intuitive icons. This will make navigation faster and more intuitive, especially for new users.

  4. Improved filters: One of the most useful additions is the presence of filters at the top of the screen, similar to those in an email inbox. These filters allow users to sort their messages based on categories such as All, Unread, Personal, and Business. This function, although present in previous beta versions, now receives a renewed look.

Currently, these changes design are only available to a small group of beta testers. The expectation is that, in the coming weeks, more test users will have access to these features before they are made available to the general public.

Unfortunately, there is still no exact date for the update to be released to all users. Therefore, WhatsApp enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer to fully enjoy these improvements in interface.

As WhatsApp revamped itself visually, it continues to be a key communications tool for millions of people around the world, offering an easy and effective way to connect with friends, family and colleagues. So, keep an eye on the updates and enjoy the improvements that are coming.
