How often have you seen the annoying “Too many people are using your account right now” error message when you open Netflix? This message appears when multiple (more than your plan supports) devices are streaming Netflix content at the same time. At this point, you may have considered revoking other people’s access to your Netflix account. No sane person would do this to cause trouble from family and friends. But what if all those devices log out of Netflix?
We’ll answer any such questions (and more) you may have about device sign-in from your Netflix account. We’ll also show you how to find out who’s using your account, from where they’re using it, and what to do after you sign out of all devices connected to your Netflix account.
Note: We used a computer for this tutorial, but the methods listed here can also be executed in a mobile browser.
How Do You Find Out Who Is Using Your Netflix Account?
Netflix doesn’t tell you exactly who is using your account using their first or last name. Instead, it shows the device name and other data that can help you identify the people using your account.
Stage 1: Sign in to your account in a browser. Hover your mouse over the profile icon in the upper left corner and click Account.

Step 2: In the Settings section of the account menu, select ‘Recent device streaming activity’.

On the resulting page, you’ll find a list of devices that have recently accessed your account, along with their locations and time zones. Netflix also shows when devices last accessed your account (data, time zone and minute).

If you find unrecognized devices from strange locations in the list, your account may have been compromised. You must log out of all devices immediately. But before you do that, there are some things you should know.
Does Netflix Notify People You’re Signed Out?
No, Netflix doesn’t spy. Affected people will eventually learn that they can no longer access your account, but Netflix will not send a notification or notify them before signing out.
Can You Remove A Single Device From A Netflix Account?
Right now, you can’t. It is an all or nothing action. The ‘log out from all devices’ function does exactly what the names say. Netflix will sign out of all devices associated with your account, except the device you use to sign out from other devices.
Can Devices You Remove Still Access Your Netflix Account?

Yes, people you’ve signed out of can still watch content. If they know your password or have it saved on their device, they can sign in to your account again. To avoid this, you must change your account password. Otherwise, you can immediately go back to the beginning when these devices sign in to your account again.
Additionally, you should know that removing devices from your Netflix account is not always instant. This is due to Netflix’s device removal window.
When you remove devices from your account, it can sometimes take up to 8 hours for Netflix to process the change. So, if you’ve disconnected all devices from your account but still can’t watch your favorite Netflix series, you may have to wait 8 hours or less.
How to Sign Out of Your Netflix Account on All Devices

Now that you’ve learned the basics of remotely disconnecting your Netflix account from all devices, here’s how to do it.
Stage 1: Visit the Netflix website in a browser and enter your credentials to sign in to your account.
Step 2: Click (or click on) the profile icon and select Account from the options.

Stage 3: Next, go to Settings and click ‘Sign out from all devices’.

Step 4: Click the Sign Out button to continue.

What to Do After Everyone Signs Out of Your Account
Change Your Account Password
You can change your Netflix account password from the Account settings menu or by sending yourself a password recovery email/SMS. Follow the steps below to update your Netflix account password from the account settings menu.
Stage 1: Sign in to your Netflix account in a browser, tap the profile icon and select Account.

Step 2: In the ‘Membership & Billing’ section, click ‘Change password’.

Stage 3: You will be prompted to provide your current account password and enter the new password (twice). Click Save to make the change.

You must set your new strong and secure password. You can also check the box that says ‘Require all devices to re-login with new password’ before clicking Save. This is another interesting method to remotely close your Netflix account from other devices.
Do Not Share Your Account Credentials
You shouldn’t give out your Netflix account details like candies. To prevent (or at best limit) unauthorized access to your account, only share your password with people you know and trust. Better still, type your account credentials on their device yourself. This is better than telling or texting them your password – they can easily pass it on to other people.
Protect Your Netflix Account
In addition to being able to watch content without any limitations, logging out of your Netflix account from all devices comes with security benefits. Giving too many people access to your account exposes your personal information, such as your phone number and credit card information.
