Do you find this weird or romantic? A software developer has created an app to replicate his own girlfriend using artificial intelligence (AI).
Denominated GirlfriendGPTthis program has the ability to recreate any individual and their personality. All this based on Instagram and YouTube posts.
However, many people will be scared from now on, since the programmer’s girlfriend is alive and knows about the whole process.
How did the idea for GirlfriendGPT come about?
Enias Cailliau developed the app and gave it the personality of Sacha, his girlfriend. The AI version of the app interacts with Cailliau through Telegram, exchanging text and audio messages, and even sending photos.
Cailliau says his obsession with OpenAI’s advanced language models and their potential led him to create a similar app that could mimic human behavior. Inspired by several other AI creations that recreate “girlfriends,” he decided to develop his own.
To create the app, Cailliau used Bard, which is developed by Google, to identify personality traits based on social networks. In addition, he hired ElevenLabs to create an artificial voice.
Finally, it uses Stable Diffusion to replicate her appearance, allowing Sacha to send photos during conversations.

However, if you think Enias’ girlfriend thought it was weird, on the contrary. This AI had the approval of the developer’s girlfriend. She shared that she allowed and even appreciated the idea of cloning through AI.
Sacha was aware of Cailliau’s interest in developing an AI and was flattered that he chose to recreate her instead of a random influencer.
So, would you use GirlfriendGPT?
