Who has never heard a theory about the end of the world? This is undoubtedly a controversial subject. There are many predictions about when the apocalypse will happen. Now, it is Harvard University’s turn to perform a mathematical calculation that reveals the day the world will end.
The study was conducted in 1960 by physicist Heinz Von Foerster, together with Patricia M. Mora of the University of Chicago and Lawrence Amiot of Argonne National Laboratory. The essay was published in the journal Science and reveals the date everyone wants to know: the end of the world will be on November 13, 2026.
Contrary to what many people think, calculations show that the end of the world will not happen through climate change or even some catastrophic event, but rather through overpopulation and the accelerated growth of people on the planet. The research indicates that the next generations will not die of hunger, but rather “squeezed to death”.
According to the study, on November 13, 2026, the human population will approach infinity. The analysis also details that people do not need to wait for some external factor to influence human activity.
This is because we understand that we must take control of our destiny, after all, the environment in which we live is influenced by the social forces that we create.
But don’t worry, there’s no need to panic: this study was carried out over 60 years ago. According to the United Nations (UN), by 2030, the population will reach 8.5 billion.
By 2050, it will reach 9.7 billion, and by 2100, the number of people on Earth will reach 11.2 billion. All of this shows that we are far from Harvard’s calculations.
Many theories, but we’re still here
According to theories, we have already experienced the end of the world several times. One of the most famous was the one that followed the Mayan calendar, which indicated that the planet would come to an end in 2012. The population awaited December 12, 2012 with fear and anxiety.
Another date that caused a lot of anticipation was June 6, 2006. According to this theory, the end of the world would occur on this date, as it represents the number of the beast: 666. In addition, studies indicated that Halley’s comet would collide with Earth in 1910.
The famous “Turn of the Century” was, without a doubt, one of the most chaotic end-of-the-world theories. This is because the date, which would mark the end of the millennium, gave rise to theories, fear and catastrophic prophecies.
