At the end of November, the long-awaited Cybertruck from Tesla has finally arrived, leading to a wave of anticipation.
Now, the automaker confirms something new that seems unrealistic: the car will have a feature that transforms it into a boat, with the capacity to sail for approximately 100 meters.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, had previously mentioned that the brand’s vehicles could float for a brief period, and this functionality was tested in practice.
However, Tesla emphasizes that the feature was only developed for specific situations, such as in cases of flooding.
The Cybertruck’s safety is still a concern for experts, but Musk keeps his promises about the electric pickup truck. The CEO used social media to state that, soon, the car could be used as a boat.

Lars Moravy, vice president of engineering at Tesla, revealed that the company will launch a Mod Package that will make the Cybertruck can be piloted for about 100 meters like a boat.
He explained that updates will need to be made to the cabin sealing areas for this functionality. So far, Tesla has not provided any further details, such as the price or the exact date of availability of the package.
Musk goes even further: his aspirations include an increase so that the Cybertruck can cross the 360 meters of distance between SpaceX’s Starbase and South Padre Island, in Texas.
Cybertruck launch forecast and price changes
The electric pickup, which now transforms into a boat, is expected to begin being delivered to customers who have made pre-bookings.
During a meeting with investors, Elon Musk stated that production at the Texas gigafactory will begin in early 2024, aiming to deliver the first units in the middle of next year.
However, the price may change. Previously estimated to start at US$39,900 (approximately R$211,400).
The Cybertruck may sell for different values due to adjustments in the prices of semiconductors and other essential components.
