A very useful feature for traders has arrived in Brazil, announced by Apple. Tap to Pay has arrived enabling professionals, both from small businesses and large retailers across the country, to no longer need to use machinesbeing able to make payments directly via cell phone for physical purchases.
The feature accepts Apple Pay, the digital wallet from Apple, contactless credit and debit cards and other digital wallets securely, with transactions protected with encryption, using only the iPhone and the iOS app. Thus, the merchant does not need extra equipment or additional payment terminals.
Tap to Pay is also available for payment platforms and mobile developers to integrate into their iOS applications, thus offering this option to their customers.
One example is CloudWalk, the first Brazilian institution to offer this functionality to its customers. Granito, Nubank, Stone and SumUp will be available soon.

How does Apple Tap to Pay work?

With Tap to Pay working on iPhone, merchants can accept contactless payments with an app installed on iPhones XS or later — with the latest version of iOS installed.
When completing the purchase, the merchant needs to ask the customer to bring their iPhone or Apple Watch closer to the iPhone of the merchant’s cell phone to pay with Apple Pay, contactless debit or credit card or another digital wallet, so that the payment will be made.
No other equipment is needed to use Tap to Pay, making payments across the country with Apple easier.
