‘Space’ trick: discover the story of the makeshift solution created by NASA engineers!

The Brazilian people are famous for their enormous creativity when it comes to solving problems. In fact, in Brazil, a term was created specifically for “unconventional” creative solutions, the popular “gambiarras”.

However, Brazilians who think that gambiarra is something exclusive to our country are mistaken. After all, everyone in the world eventually needs to resort to other ways of solving things.

Another maxim of our culture is the strangely popular phrase: “NASA needs to study Brazilians”. Well, apparently they studied and came to the conclusion that we are right. And now you must be asking yourself, how so?

What happens (or, in this case, what happened) is the following: everyone knows about space shuttles, those large ships that were created in the 1980s to take humans safely off the planet.

Well, space shuttles are a very important part of human history, however, like any technology, it needs to evolve.

How did scientists keep the space shuttle going for another 10 years?

At the turn of the millennium, some of the people responsible for space travel already believed that the space shuttle was an obsolete technology, and indeed it was. So some of them wanted to retire the shuttle altogether and move on to new means of taking astronauts into Earth’s orbit.

However, there were those who did not want the end of the shuttle and needed to revitalize it to at least prolong its use for another ten years. However, there was a huge problem: since the technology was already obsolete, many parts were no longer produced by NASA or any other agency or company.

So how could they revive it without parts? Simple: look it up on eBay! Even though it may seem silly or ridiculous, that’s exactly what the people behind the project did. And it worked incredibly well.

On the sales website, engineers were able to find several components, including even medicines, so that the space shuttle could continue operating.

Although NASA did not reveal the names of those responsible for this idea, it was revealed that the engineer who took this initiative was awarded for his ability to find creative solutions.

Well, if he was awarded for this, NASA definitely needs to hire Brazilians specialized in these hacks.
