SOS Google Drive: files disappear out of nowhere and leave users in PANIC

O Google Drive has revolutionized the way we store and share content.

With its main cloud storage functionality, it offers users the convenience of accessing documents, photos and videos from any device connected to the internet.

Its intuitive interface and perfect integration with other google toolslike Google Docs and Google Sheets, make project collaboration more efficient.

Google Drive’s popularity increases due to its generous free storage capacity, which meets the needs of many users. However, recently, something unexpected occurred for some of these individuals.

Drive users reported that some files were removed by the storage platform itself.

That’s right! They stated that there was no consent for such an action to occur, and the worst thing is that, to date, there is no possibility of recovering the data.

What happened to Google Drive?

After users reported the problem, an engineer from Google shared that they had not identified what had caused this whole situation.

He shared, however, that the team is committed to discovering the origin of the problem and then resolving it as quickly as possible.

The advice given by those involved was not to touch the platform’s root folder, to avoid the risk of something even worse happening.

Until then, they will not have access to your information stored on Google from May this year.

Report of affected people

Over the course of a week, user Yeonjoong noticed something strange about his Drive experience and promptly reported it to Google.

Surprisingly, your files disappeared, specifically the data from May to the most recent ones, and the folder structure returned to May’s status.

For him, activity on Google Drive has remained unchanged since then. Yeonjoong highlighted that he didn’t manually delete any files and that his recycle bin was also empty.

The user contacted the South Korean support network and then the US support network. However, he could not find anyone who could solve the problem.

Contrary to what was thought, the user in question discovered that he was not the only one experiencing difficulties in recovering his files.

Until this problem is resolved, it is prudent to exercise caution and, preferably, keep a backup copy of the documents.
