Rivalries and fights between competing companies are common in the industry. We can often see Pepsi attacking Coca-Cola, Burger King attacking McDonald’s, and many others. And with the growth of the streaming market around the world, the competition has become even more fierce.
For the public, it is even fun to see some of the indirect messages, such as the one that happened recently by Prime Video, a streaming service. streaming by Amazon subscription, for Netflix.
The competition between two entertainment giants even reached Twitter, with a certain jab from Prime Video. The company responded on its official profile on the social network to the controversy over Netflix’s new password sharing policy.
Prime Video attacks Netflix after charging users

On Tuesday, May 23, Netflix made an announcement that could completely change its subscriber numbers. The company revealed that it will charge a fee of around R$12.90 to users who share their account passwords with other people.
The platform made it clear that only people in the same household can have access to the profiles available on the same plan. Therefore, Procon of São Paulo notified the company, which must respond with explanations justifying this change.
The news quickly spread across the internet and even reached Prime Video UK. The platform then took action marketing and took a swipe at his competitor with a post on Twitter.
In the publication, there is a photo with the question “Who is watching?”, followed by six profiles with names that complete the sentence “Everyone who has our password”.

Netflix explanation
O streaming has already been experiencing a decline in subscriptions since last year. One of these causes, according to the company, is the growth of competitors and the sharing of user passwords, as this means more people have access with fewer paying customers.
The platform further states that
“A Netflix account must be used by a single household. Everyone living in the same household can use Netflix wherever they want, whether at home, on the go, or while traveling.”
