Last week, billionaire tycoon Elon Musk surprised Twitter users by making a bold change to the name and visual identity of the platform, which was now called X Corp. The novelty featured an X as a symbol, replacing the iconic little blue bird as the brand’s logo.
The issue is that a lot of people didn’t like this change and complaints on social media are increasing. And now, because of a huge logo, Twitter headquarters had more problems.
The X installed in the company’s building was quickly turned off and removed from the headquarters shortly after its installation. This is because it appears that the change did not meet with approval even among the company’s neighbors.
Neighborhood complained again in San Francisco
The bright and flashy version of the X caused a lot of discomfort to those who lived around the building. After it was installed, a complaint emerged from the city alleging that the glowing sign was placed there without permission, as a permit must be obtained to make this type of change.
Additionally, the San Francisco Department of Building Inspections has filed 24 complaints about the symbol, arguing that it is unsafe and a nuisance. A local resident said the flashing lights were disrupting his sleep. Look:
Twitter/X headquarters were notified to remove the luminous logo. However, authorities were unable to access the location in two different attempts, according to CNN.
The problem was only resolved last Monday (7/31). That’s because workers at the CNBC newspaper saw employees dismantling the shiny X from the top of the building, and by 1 pm that day, the sign had already been completely removed.
Now it is not known how this issue will turn out and whether Elon Musk will take any action regarding the gigantic X to notify the social network’s headquarters.
The platform has been undergoing very sudden changes in recent days, the main reason is that Musk wants to make it an app for everything, with video and audio calling, for example.
