However, there are some negative points, mainly related to the dangers of invasion and security. Recently, researchers identified that a AI can discover passwords and codes.
AI can hack your accounts
Losing access to personal accounts is a daily concern, especially for those who work with online services. In this sense, many studies direct their objectives towards increasing user security.
Thus, researchers evaluated the possibility of AI decipher codes and passwords through the PassGAN platform.
In order to accurately verify the time taken to crack the codes, researchers used the old RockYou Widget, a widget that was used on both MySpace and Facebook, but its system was hacked in 2009. After this hacker attack, 32 million passwords were leaked.

Which passwords were discovered by AI
The system was able to identify the most popular security keys with less than 4 characters in just a few seconds. These corresponded to 18.51% of the most common passwords. The time to crack the password increases as the number of characters increases:
- 65% of passwords were hacked within an hour;
- 71% were hacked in one day;
- 81% were hacked in approximately one month.
How can security be increased?
It is recommended that the user choose a password with at least 15 characters. These characters must include symbols, upper and lower case letters, and, of course, numbers. This way, it would certainly take a long time for the device to figure it out.
A good tip is also to renew the passwords periodically, and do not use the same account for different networks and applications. This way, you prevent the criminal from having access to many other accounts if one of them is discovered.
