Gates suggested that technological developments, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, could make this reduction in working hours a reality.

The idea of ​​a shorter work week is not new, but the intervention of Gates brought new energy to the debate.

He proposes that, with technological advancement, machines could take over a significant amount of the work currently performed by humans. This would include tasks such as food production.

Gates is not alone in his predictions. Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan, also predicts that the next generation of workers could have an even shorter work week, possibly down to 3.5 days.

Dimon, like Gates, attributes this possibility to the continuous advancement of artificial intelligence and its role in transforming the work environment.

This trend towards a shorter work week is already being tested and debated in several countries, including Brazil.
