With technological evolution, the protection of devices and systems has become a necessity. Therefore, several companies in the market, not only technology companies, invest heavily in softwares security measures so that your data is not stolen, causing enormous damage to the company.
Many of these companies have a specialized area to identify security problems so that they can be resolved. However, not all flaws are found by hired technicians.
That’s why Google is offering a huge cash prize to anyone who can find a security flaw in one of its apps.
Google pays R$150,000 to identify flaws in its system

One of the world’s largest technology companies has a rewards program for anyone who finds security bugs in its software. It’s called the “Vulnerability Reward Program,” which can pay out up to $30,000 (around R$150,000) to users who challenge its complex systems.
Absolutely anyone can participate, but advanced knowledge of information security is essential. With this, Google encourages Internet users with greater knowledge in the area of technology to work for the company, identifying problems that can be fixed.
Google’s real interest
Although it may not seem like it, due to the expenses the company may incur, the program is extremely advantageous for the growth of the technology giant. This is because, once the fault is identified, it can be repaired before it becomes a serious problem.
Furthermore, R$150,000 may not be a lot for Google, since expenses with lawsuits resulting from data exposure can be much more expensive and not all errors found are rewarded with this amount.
Values according to the fault
The aforementioned value refers to failures with the highest potential risk, such as “Arbitrary code execution”, in which the hacker can take full control of the codes.
This is classified as “Category 1”, but there is also “Category 2”, which has a minimum payment of US$ 650 (around R$ 3,250), for example.
