According to the Brazilian Association for Awareness for the Dangers of Electricity (Abracopel), in 2022, there were twelve electric shock accidents related to the inappropriate use of such devices, resulting in six fatalities in Paraíba.

Cemig’s Occupational Health and Safety manager, João José Magalhães Soares, highlights that handling cell phones and tablets while charging can result in serious accidents, such as fires and electric shocks.

Using counterfeit batteries or batteries of dubious origin can result in expansion and even explosions, due to inappropriate chemical components.

This practice increases the risk of electric shock, as the electric current flowing through the device can cause accidents.
