China imposes strict internet usage rules for children and teenagers

A China made an important decision to try to control the excessive use of technology by children and teenagers. The country’s authorities express concern about the possibility of young people developing dependence on smartphones, social networks and the internet. To avoid this, the government has established some rules.

According to the new guidelines, technological devices will be equipped with a feature called “minor mode”, explaining how this function will restrict the activities that children and teenagers can carry out with the devices at specific times.

For example, young people aged between 16 and 18 will be allowed to use these devices for a maximum period of two hours per day.

However, parents will maintain some flexibility and may make adjustments to some of these guidelines as they deem necessary. These details were released by the Cyberspace Administration of China.

These measures may seem harsh, but the Chinese government believes they are necessary. They are concerned about the negative effects that excessive use of technology can have on the health and well-being of young people.

Studies have shown that spending too much time in front of a screen can lead to problems such as lack of sleep, learning difficulties and mental health problems.

However, it remains uncertain whether these rules will have concrete effectiveness and what the method of implementation will be. Furthermore, the Chinese government has not addressed the measures to be taken in relation to those who choose not to adhere to the new guidelines.

However, they are encouraging citizens to offer suggestions to improve the project, which shows their willingness to welcome ideas and make adjustments to the rules, if necessary.

It is necessary to raise awareness among young people to use technology in a responsible and balanced way, so that they can take advantage of the benefits that she offers without putting herself at risk.
