Astral Match: New app matches people based on their astrological chart

Even if you are one of the few souls who have not ventured into a dating app, you have certainly heard about one of them. You must have also heard about several missed encounters and matches terrifying things that have already happened around here.

Based on this, designer Carla Ribeiro also revealed that she felt this pain and, therefore, created an app that matches people based on their astrological chart. Awesome, right?

The name of the application is Joinder.mewhich became available last month, March. It is available for free for Android and iOS devices.

But the question remains: how is this app different from Tinder, for example?

How does the app work based on the astral chart?

For Joinder.me, love, as Tetê Spíndola once said, “was written in the stars.” So, in addition to offering the features of a regular dating app, it also matches people based on their astrological chart.

That match of the universe is guaranteed at the time of registration. To create a profile, the user must provide their name, date of birth, location and star sign.

Based on this information, the app will suggest people who are most compatible with your profile.

The origin of the idea…

Before going into the details of the story, it is important to consider that, in Brazil alone, 124 million people use some type of dating app. Furthermore, a survey conducted by eHarmony estimates that, by 2040, around 70% of couples in the world will have met through dating sites.

However, there are already so many, so why create another one? Designer Carla Martinez Ribeiro was unhappy with the format of dating apps available today.

Back in 2015, she conducted extensive research to reach people who felt the same nonconformity. In the middle of the information gathering process, the professional came across the Synastrywhich is the study of relationships (of all kinds) through astrology.

That’s when the idea came to her: create an app that matches people based on their astrological chart. Why not? For Carla, this was an interesting alternative to apps that focus on personal descriptions and photos, which can lead to a choice based on superficial data.

In addition to considering the astral chart, the app also invests in resources and features based on self-knowledge. The intention is to generate an authentic and very real profile of what people are really like.
