When? Joe Rogan He doesn’t call UFC fights live from crowded arenas, he invites MMA-savvy guests to one of the world’s most popular podcasts, hosting and long chats. But many have often wondered how Rogan chose his guests for the show.
Joe Rogan does not discriminate when he invites his guests. The UFC commentator/comedian has interviewed/spoke with a wide variety of guests from different walks of life on his popular podcast, currently only available on Spotify. When Rogan looks at the list of offers to join his show, he’s only looking at one thing, and he revealed it on a podcast episode where he is a guest.
On AWESOME podcast Hosted by fellow comedian Andrew Schulz, the popular podcaster was interviewed for a change. In this chat, Joe Rogan explained the criteria for podcast guests. “The only criterion is, am I interested in talking to them?” When asked if he specifically selected guests he believed could bring a lot of views to his podcast, Rogan said.
“So I get hundreds of requests, right? So I get hundreds of requests, right? They all come to the email and look at them and say, ‘Hmm, where did this guy go? Have you walked across Antarctica?… It must be interesting to me,” Rogan added when discussing the criteria for guest selection.
Yes. It’s that simple. Joe Rogan must find you interesting. The UFC commentator has had some interesting guests in the past like Kanye West, Mike Tyson, Robert Downey Jr., Elon Musk, Bernie Sanders, and others. He does all the talking while his friend/co-producer Young Jamie makes sure the podcast is well-edited and produced for audiences.

How often does Joe Rogan make a fight call for the UFC?
Joe Rogan’s first arrival at the UFC was in 1997. Since then, for over two decades, the American celebrity has been declaring war for the UFC. Some might argue that Rogan’s comments make fights better, and with the latest comment box camera, fans are waiting for Rogan and his comment team to react live to the great moments in the fight.
The comedian is not as active in the UFC now as he was in his early days. The UFC is known for traveling around the world and holding shows abroad. Rogan no longer travels with the fight promotion to summon fights outside the United States. The commenter now only works on the biggest pay-per-view events put together by the company and does a great job putting up a fight. He also gets very well paid for working as a commentator for the UFC.
The commentator signed a contract with the company that allowed him to perform 10 times a year, almost once a month. Speaking to fellow comedian Ron White on the podcast episode, Joe Rogan says he doesn’t have time to alternate between being a podcaster, comedian, and commentator if he agrees to call all the fights for the UFC.
