The game multiplayer “The Last of Us”, announced in 2018, is an independent project inspired by the “Factions” mode of the first game, which divided players between groups of Fireflies and Hunters.
Although it does not yet have an official title, the game aims to expand on the ideas of the previous mode, offering an accessible experience even for those who have never played the franchise.
The game’s developer, Naughty Dog, describes the project as “extremely ambitious,” which resulted in the studio expanding to accommodate a large group of developers dedicated to it. The promise is of a game with a huge scope and an immense world.
A Naughty Dog reported that the development of multiplayer is in charge of a team led by three company veterans: Joe Pettinati, Vinit Agarwal and Anthony Newman, each with more than eight years of experience.
“With a team led by Vinit Agarwal, Joe Pettinati and Anthony Newman, the project is becoming an unprecedented experience for our studio, but one that remains in tune with Naughty Dog’s passion for delivering incredible stories, characters and gameplay”, says the communicated.
Unfortunately, the multiplayer project does not have a set release date, as it has been postponed indefinitely. We will need to wait for more information in the future and hope that this launch happens.
