The pleasure of playing your favorite game on your Sony PS5 is usually doubled if you have a bigger screen. If you don’t like connecting your PS5 to your gaming monitor, connecting it to a powerful TV is the next big solution. Fortunately, TVs today come with the right technology that makes it easy to pair with the Sony PS5. The good thing is that there is enough budget gaming TV for the Sony PS5.
That said, budget gaming TVs come with some compromises. For example, quite a few TVs lack VRR, HDMI 2.1 or high refresh rate support. The former means that the TV will not reach maximum frame rates like a gaming monitor.

The Hisense A6G is an entry-level TV with features like Dolby Vision HDR, three HDMI connectors and eARC support. Affordable and won’t burn your pocket. At the same time, the large flat screen manages to give you an immersive experience while playing your favorite games.
Three HDMI connections let you connect to both your PlayStation and streaming stick, leaving room for more like a soundbar. It’s worth noting that one of the HDMIs supports eARC, allowing you to control the soundbar’s volume with a single remote.
Brightness levels are good for the price. For the record, it can go up to 300 nits. While this Hisense 60Hz is definitely not a gaming TV, features like MEMC (Motion Predictive Motion Compensation) ensure that on-screen content has minimal blurring and stuttering.
The low price point means Hisense has cut some corners, and in this case, it’s input lag. The folks at Games Radar found the input lag in Game Mode to be around 48.2ms. And if you’re a bit of an avid gamer, this lag can be an issue.
The A6G isn’t the best gaming TV on the market. However, if you want to save money and buy a TV that can also run your regular TV, the Hisense A6G is not a bad choice. But if you want more from your TV, you might want to skip this one.

TCL 5-Series TVs are a little more expensive than the above, but bring a host of good gaming features to the foyer. At the same time, this TCL TV ranks well in the panel and audio department.
Color quality is impressive for the price. Even though the blacks are not as dark and colorful as OLED screens, you get a sharp and vibrant image. HDR performance is also very pleasant.
While it can support VRR, you’ll be limited to the 60Hz range. But the good news is that one of the HDMI connectors supports eARC, which means you can connect to a good soundbar or enhanced audio experience.
Interestingly, the TCL 5-Series TV has HDMI-CEC. This great feature automatically turns on your TV when you turn on your PlayStation. While it sounds great on paper, the reality is a little different. Sometimes that TCL TV change doesn’t matter.
That said, it’s worth a try if you’re looking for one that’s affordable and just for casual gaming on your PS5.
3. Hisense ULED 4K 55U6G

It comes with a built-in gaming mode, and the impressively low input lag lets you play fast-paced games and action games smoothly. If you look around, it’s one of the lowest for its input lag price (and similar).
As previously mentioned, the HDR output is impressive. And aside from some pretty dark scenes, the picture delivery is worth every penny. At the same time, the Hisense U6G comes with a good selection of connectors such as 3 HDMI 2.0 ports, a pair of USB 2.0 ports and optical audio outputs.
There are a few limitations. For example, there is no support for HDMI 2.1 or eARC. But for its price, the U6G offers excellent image quality. The low input lag makes it a good budget gaming TV for the Sony PS5.
4. Samsung TU-8000 Series UHD TV

Samsung TVs are known for their picture quality and this one is no different. For example, it offers impressive picture quality for the money. HDR content looks rich with deep blacks. More importantly, if you turn on Game Plus Mode, the input lag drops to 3.2ms. At the same time, the built-in Steam Link app makes it easy to stream games from your PC.
The Samsung TU-8000 supports popular HDR formats such as HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision. Output is crisp and clear and doubles as a good entertainment TV. The build quality is solid and should last you a long time.
Although HDR quality is good for its price, the Samsung TU-8000 has narrow viewing angles. So unless you’re sitting in front of it, the colors might look a little washed out.
That said, the Samsung TU8000 is an affordable gaming TV for PS5, especially if you’re looking for a TV to play esports games.
5. Vizio M7 Series

These prove to be a huge plus, especially if you want to double the TV as your main entertainment unit. In addition, HDMI 2.1 ports also support eARC. More importantly, you get low input lag at both FHD and 4K settings.
This 4K TV is capable of supporting high dynamic range like the other TVs above. Contrast levels and color saturation are excellent for the price. And these two features make games like Red Dead Redemption of Assassins’ Creed Valhalla attractive to play.
It’s worth noting that the HDMI 2.1 ports on the Vizio M7 support VRR for console games. However, they are not truly HDMI 2.1 as they do not have the full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. So no 120fps games and you will be limited to 4K @ 60fps games. Apart from that, M7 comes with built-in Clear Action which is responsible for improving motion resolution.
If you frequently switch between PC and console games and want a TV that can meet your gaming needs, the Vizio M7 is a good choice.
Game Away
Budget TVs are generally not a good choice for hardcore gamers, as they tend to limit the PlayStation 5’s gaming capabilities. However, low input lag and big screen real estate make it attractive to play fun action- and story-driven games.
It’s also important to note that the excellent HDR output makes them a great choice for watching regular TV content.
