WhatsApp will allow its users to delete messages they’ve sent in any chat more than an hour after they’ve been sent. According to WABetaInfo, building 2.18.69 of the instant messaging app increases the time to delete a message to 4096 seconds (8 minutes and 16 seconds). Since the end of 2017, WhatsApp has already allowed to delete a sent message, but only for 7 minutes.

Deleting a message you sent in a WhatsApp chat is very simple. Keep pressing the message in question and select trash. The app then gives you a few options. You can do delete for me, which is not very useful because you will be the only one to get rid of the message. But if you are still on schedule (7 minutes now, more than an hour soon), delete for all and thus clear messaging for all users in chat.
Currently, this uninstall time extension is for the beta version of WhatsApp on Android, but it will come to iOS soon. Another expected new feature in WhatsApp is the ability to listen to audio messages before sending or deleting them. Useful for checking if you made a mistake or if the message is out of sound. This is not yet the case in France, but the practice is widely used by professionals in some countries. Such a feature could be very practical in this context, for example.
