More details are starting to come to light with the upcoming LG G4. Today, an important announcement has been made by LG Electronics that showcases the latest smartphone display that comes in 5.5 inches and offers the best visual experience ever. That’s what will stand out in the brand new LG G4. With both the official and upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, the next major release will be the LG G4.
Last year the LG G3 was announced in late May, and more than a month later, it fell far behind the competition. However, this version was earlier than the G2 before it, and the G2 came even earlier than the original Optimus G. In 2015, LG is doing the same thing again, releasing the new LG G4 earlier than the previous model. The launch is officially set for April 28.
In early February, the new LG G4 smartphone was somewhat confirmed by LG after some early rumors, and all of this will soon be put to rest when they officially announce the new device on April 28. But today we know exactly what to expect in terms of size, and those rumors can be silenced while we wait for the release date. Here’s what we know so far and what LG has told us about its new smartphone display technology.
We’ve already seen a few leaked images, but at the end of April, the company will officially announce its new smartphone. Invites are starting to make fun of the G4, potentially revealing that a version of it will be made of leather. Or at least have a similar skin to the 2014 Moto X.
Late last night LG announced a brand new 5.5 inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD display for smartphones. It’s a screen that will most likely launch on the upcoming LG G4. Rumors suggested that the screen could be smaller this year, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. The new display has tons of improvements and promises to be the best LG display and smartphone display available in 2015. The Galaxy S6 has a pretty impressive 5.1-inch quad HD display, so LG has some tough competition.
According to the LG press release, this new 5.5-inch Quad-HD display has achieved a “quantum leap” in color gamut and brightness. The new LG G4 display will be brighter, with extremely rich and striking colors. All this while being more efficient and easier on battery life, it’s thinner and offers enhanced touch functionality and sensitivity.
The press release confirmed that this display will be inside LG’s next flagship smartphone, the LG G4, which will be announced on April 28. They have confirmed that it has a new advanced In-Cell Touch technology that allows it to respond to touches even when there is water on it. Finally, it is expected to display more accurate colors than last year’s QHD panel on the G3, offering a color gamut of 120%, a contrast increase of 50%, and a brightness increase of 30%.
All this means that the new LG G4 will have the same size 5.5 inch Quad-HD display. It will be more responsive, thinner, better-looking, with stunning colors and brightness while only using less battery life. The LG G3 screen wasn’t as bright as we’d like, and viewing angles and colors were a bit off. This shouldn’t be an issue here in 2015.
We can expect the new LG G4 to look great, be thinner while still boasting a better screen and some of the best features of any smartphone released in 2015. Rumor has it that this device will be powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor. It could be curved a bit like 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a micro SD slot, and even the G Flex 2. At least if a few early leaks are true.
We’re less than a month away from the phone being officially announced and confirmed on April 28 in New York and worldwide, and we’ll update it the moment we have more details or some photos about this impressive-sounding smartphone.
