Pixel 2 Pre-Orders and Release Date

In a surprise move, Google instantly opened pre-orders for its new smartphones. Most people expected this to start on October 5th, but you can book yours as we speak. A missing piece of the puzzle was the release date. These phones will be officially available from October 19th from Google, Verizon, Best Buy, and more.

Verizon’s website promises that orders will be delivered by October 19; This is in line with Google’s October 19 release date announcement.

When Will My Pixel 2 Coming?

So if pre-orders are available now, when will the Pixel 2 actually arrive? After asking a few questions and getting our own, we found the answer. Both the Pixel 2 and the larger Pixel 2 XL will begin shipping from Google on October 17. Our image below confirms the date in the lower right corner. Also, the estimated delivery date for my pre-order is October 20-23.

However, I may receive it sooner than I expected. Google has already charged my credit card, the device is going to storage and my estimated delivery date is October 18-19. We see countless users saying the same thing on Reddit. It looks like it will start arriving on both the Pixel 2 and 2 XL 19.

Those who don’t pre-order on October 4 will likely have a shipping estimate later. That said, multiple Reddit users said they were charging shipping emails and credit card charges, which means most people should pick up their phone before the weekend.

Also, the Google Store is completely out of the Black and White color variant, with shipping estimates for certain other models October 22nd. Therefore, while the dates are gradually being delayed, most orders should ship in October. We will update this post if there are any changes.

Google Pixel 2 Price

Pixel 2 is available in Clearly White, Just Black or Kinda Blue color options. Pixel 2 XL is only available in Clearly White and Just Black. As you can see from our images above, the pricing is slightly higher than last year but cheaper than most flagship phones released recently.

Google’s smaller 5-inch Pixel 2 comes with 64GB of storage and costs $649. Alternatively, get the 128GB model for $749.

The larger 6-inch edge-to-edge Pixel 2 XL with 64GB of storage is $849 or $949 for the 128GB version.

And while that’s pretty expensive, it’s less than competing devices from Samsung or Apple. The Galaxy Note 8 is around $950, and the new iPhone X is over $1,000. Also, Google offers financing plans for 24 months with $35 per month or less monthly payments for the smaller Pixel. Those who go with Google financing are already getting shipping notifications.

Then Google has a trade-in program where buyers can get the new Pixel 2 and send their original Pixel back to Google from 2016 after it arrives. This will save you up to $350. Google accepts trades from most major manufacturers. Every pre-order comes with a free Google Home Mini for $50 for a limited time.
